Arturo Tay (born Arturo Antonio Tay Balderas, October 7, 1982 in Puebla, Mexico) is a film maker.

Education

In 2004, he graduated from the New York Film Academy. He attended film schools at San Antonio de los Baños (EICTV, Cuba), Metropolis C.E. (Madrid), CUEC (Mexico) and TEBA (Buenos Aires). In 2005, he studied stop-motion animation with Mexican animator René Castillo (Hasta los Huesos).

Filmography

While attending the New York Film Academy, he directed his first short film, Bananas: I've Gone Ape (2004). His 2006 short film, La Vida es Cine y el Cine, Cine Es, won the best experimental short film in the 5th Digital Film Festival at Viña del Mar, Chile.

As a film producer he is credited with Todos Hemos Pecado (2009), from the director Alejandro Ramírez and La Noche Del Pirata (2010) from the Mexican director Juan Carlos Blanco.

Tay was executive producer for La Neta Rally, a project for La Neta Films. It consisted of six short films all shot in Puebla, Mexico: El Sastre, Igualdad, Dar y Recibir, Invocación, El Parto and Matinée.
