Route description

Artesia Boulevard begins at Gilbert Street in Fullerton as Artesia Avenue. It will run westbound for one mile before it changes onto a "Boulevard". Artesia Bl. will then enter the city of Buena Park and pass through La Mirada, Cerritos, Artesia, Bellflower, Long Beach, Compton and Carson. It breaks off briefly at Avalon Boulevard, and much of this portion of Artesia Boulevard parallels the Artesia Freeway. Artesia Boulevard later returns at Vermont Avenue in Gardena and continues through Torrance, Lawndale, Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach before finally ending at the point where Sepulveda Boulevard becomes Pacific Coast Highway. This portion of Artesia Boulevard was formerly part of California State Route 91. After this point, Artesia Boulevard becomes Gould Avenue and later 27th Street, finally ending west of Manhattan Avenue. The South Bay Galleria is located at the intersection with Hawthorne Boulevard.

Transportation

Artesia Boulevard is serviced by Metro Local line 130. A Metro Blue Line station is located near its intersection with Acacia Avenue.

The southern end of selected trips on the Metro Silver Line, Harbor Gateway Transit Center, was formerly named Artesia Transit Center, based on nearby Artesia Boulevard.
