The Art Institute of Portland is a for-profit college in Portland, Oregon, United States that grants bachelor and associate degrees in advertising, apparel accessory design, apparel design, design management, design studies, digital film and video, game art and design, graphic design, industrial design, interactive media design, interior design, media arts and animation, photography and design, visual and game programming, and visual effects and motion graphics. In 2009, they added a culinary arts program, offering degrees in culinary management and culinary arts, as well as a diploma in baking and pastry.

Located in Portland's Pearl District, the school has twelve computer labs, multiple animation and video labs, a recording studio, library, and a public art gallery. The gallery displays both student work and work of local artists and designers. Gallery openings occur monthly on First Thursday, a Pearl District evening of art shows. The school participates in Portland Fashion Week, and produces its own show of graduate work each year.
The school is s part of The Art Institutes, owned by Education Management Corporation (EDMC), a private for-profit corporation headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was formerly named Bassist College and was acquired by EDMC in 1998. Bassist was founded in 1963 by Norma and Donald Bassist as a fashion institute for women.
A required course schedule of four full-time (15 credit hours, or five course) quarters, including summer term, makes it possible to complete a four-year degree in three years.
The school is not regionally accredited, meaning that other colleges probably will not honor its credits.
