Professional career
In 2015 he was invited to join the Dallas Mavericks training camp.
On July 9, 2015, he signed a two-year contract with UNICS Kazan.
On August 7, 2016, it was announced that Milaknis signed with Žalgiris Kaunas.
International career
In 2015 Milaknis was included into the Lithuania men's national basketball team head coach Jonas Kazlauskas extended candidates list. At age of 29 he qualified into the final roster for the first time in his career and represented the national team at EuroBasket 2015. The team won silver medals that year.
