Together with Caroline Atkins, Brindle set the world record for women's cricket when they put on an unbeaten 150-run opening partnership in a Test against India at K. D. Singh Babu Stadium in Lucknow.

She represented England women in 9 Test matches and 58 one-day internationals from 2000–2005, scoring a century in the first Test against Australia at Hove in 2005 and eight ODI fifties. In 2006, she decided to take a break from top-level cricket to spend more time with her family. She continues to play club cricket in the Lincolnshire ECB Men's Premier League for Louth. She became the first woman to score a century in men's semi-professional cricket as she scored 128 for her team against Market Deeping CC on 21 May 2011. Arran returned to the international fold in 2010 when she was picked in the England squad for the summer's one day matches. She scored her maiden one day international century – an unbeaten 107 – against South Africa at Potchefstroom in October 2011.
