Highway 142 (AR 142, Ark. 142, and Hwy. 142) is an east–west state highway in Chicot County, Arkansas. The route of 5.14 miles (8.27 km) begins at US Highway 82 (US 82)/US 278 at Shives and runs east to Chicot County Road 73 (CR 73, or Levee Road) at Lakeport. The route is maintained by the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD).

Route description
Highway 142 begins at US 82/US 278 at Shives in Chicot County within the Lower Arkansas Delta. The junction in the first on the western side of the Greenville Bridge over the Mississippi River. The highway runs south as a section line road before turning east and serving the driveway for the Lakeport Plantation museum. Highway 142 continues southeast, running along an oxbow lake of the Mississippi River. The highway intersects CR 73, also known as Levee Rd atop a levee and terminates.
The route intersects the Fifth Principal Meridian.

History
AR 142 ran along Lake Chicot in 1935, but the route became US 82/US 278 before 1947. The current routing was paved by 1962.
