Career
Arjun Mark is currently a freelance advertising and fashion photographer working from Mumbai, India. However, he frequents other cities on assignments. His photographs have been featured in several prominent magazines including GQ, Vogue, L'uomo Vogue-Italy, ELLE, Harper's Bazaar, Grazia and Marie Claire among others.
Arjun is a student of Visual arts and got introduced to photography in college and ever since there has been no looking back. Objects around him were no longer impassive; they were ideas. Photography made him discern another altogether unexpected side of him and has become the premise of his artistic exploration. Just out of college, he had worked as an assistant photographer for over 4 years with different leading photographers in the country. Opportunities during this period had exposed him to work in India and overseas. His first commercial assignment was in March 2006, ever since Arjun has become permanently implanted in the photography industry.
2010
His flair for interpreting ideas into powerful and gripping images, have earned him much admiration and copious International acclaim. Sole winner of the 'Best of Show' at WPGA 2010, he one of the youngest Indian photographers to have been lauded with most international photography awards. In July 2010 he was credited with the most coveted "Award of Excellence" title at the Communication Arts Best of photography competition 2010.
Arjun's exemplary fine art and portraiture has won him a total of 9 "Honorable Mentions" at the 2010 International Photography Awards (IPA) regarded as the decisive & paramount honour in photography. Judged by the most distinguished in the field of visual arts, the panel constituted icons such as Ashley Givens of the Victoria Albert Museum, Amber Terranova of Photo District News (PDN), Todd James of the National Geographics, Kristina Hicks of Saatchi & Saatchi, James Reid of Wallpaper Magazine, Michael of Esquire, Phil Coomes of BBC, and Fiore & Romain Degoul of Galerie Paris Arjun Mark's 9 merits at IPA is a recognition of the photographers whose life's work in photography merits the highest acclaim by their peers. The photography communities from countries around the globe paid tribute to the year's most outstanding photographic achievements.
2011
Arjun Mark is honoured to be on the jury of the prestigious international WPGA Awards 2011, with the likes of David Zimmerman.
In April 2011 he was credited with a winning advertising campaign. His winning projects has been published in the internationally acclaimed publication "Communication Arts, Photography Annual 2011.
Arjun Mark was also presented with the 4th Annual Photography Masters Cup Nominee title at "The color awards & "Prix de la Photographie, Paris" two of the most prestigious international awards honouring excellence in color photography. His exceptional images "The Nudes," received a high percentage of votes overall. Arjun's outstanding imagery has earned him two nominations in the category. The awards international Jury include stalwarts of the industry ranging from Christie's in New York, National Geographic Channel, Fox Broadcasting Company, Amsterdam Worldwide, Kodak USA to Esquire in London who honoured Color Masters "The Masters Cup celebrates photographers who operate at the highest levels of their craft," says Basil O'Brien, the awards Creative Director. "Arjun's work represents contemporary color photography at its finest.”
2012
Arjun's highest credentials was when he was selected as the Luerzer's Archive's 200 Best Ad Photographers Worldwide, Volume 2012/13 for Farah Khan Fine Jewellery advertising campaign.
Interests
Arjun is a keen angler and a sport fishing fanatic. This has been his hobby and interest every since childhood. He is someone who gives his hobbies and interests equal importance to his work. He also loves scientific photography apart from his regular commercial photography assignments. He spends a lot of time in his studio experimenting with water, paint and also bullets trying to capture them in high speed using ultra fast flash lights.

Communication Arts Best of photography Annual 2010 In July this year Arjun Mark was credited with the prestigious "Award of Excellence" title at the Communication Arts Best of photography competition 2010. His winning project has been published in the internationally acclaimed publication "Communication Arts, Photography Annual 2010." Judging the merit of the photograph," juror Jane Perovich said, "Original, authentically inspiring images that are emotionally accessible will continue to be the foundation for what informs us, makes us think and ultimately captivates us." The jury was composed of industry veterans and luminaries such as Leslie Baldwin of the Texas Monthly, Reed Collins, SVP Creative Director of Leo Burnett Chicago and Takaaki Matsumoto President of Matsumoto, Inc. to mention a few.
