Ardys I was the first historically attested king of Lydia. Traditions recorded by the Greeks claimed that he was twenty-second and the nineteenth king of the Heraclid dynasty, but the names of his seventeen predecessors were not recorded and the earlier kings seem to have been mythical; see List of Kings of Lydia.

Ardys was succeeded by his son, Alyattes I, according to Herodotus.

He is believed to have reigned from 795 to 759 BC. As such, he reigned when the ancient Olympic Games are traditionally said to have been first convened in Greece.
