Contents

Garnering national attention in 2016, archimania was ranked 20th in design by Architect Magazine. They view each project as a unique opportunity to lead the community's understanding of the built environment and the value of design. archimania has been instrumental in advancing progressive architecture within and beyond their region. Internationally, two of their projects were recognized as 2016 World Architecture News (WAN) award finalists.

Honors and Awards

The design collective has garnered more than 150 AIA awards, dominating the 2016 statewide architecture awards. They won the architectural design competition for Conservation Hall at the Tennessee Governor's Mansion, and Architectural Digest recognized this project as one of "10 Amazing Examples of Subterranean Architecture." archimania's Hattiloo Theater and Live at the Garden projects were both shortlisted for WAN Performing Spaces Awards in 2016.

Leaders in Sustainability

One of the primary goals of archimania's Conservation Hall and renovation/addition at the Tennessee Governor's Mansion, spearheaded by First Lady Andrea Conte, was to encourage energy-efficient operation and minimize its environmental impact. To that end, the project was designed as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Certified building per USGBC's criteria. Many of its materials used were reclaimed: the wood for a staircase came from 200-year-old logs fallen to the bottom of the Tennessee River, and materials for floors were retrieved from old, local buildings, including barns. The firm designed the first LEED for Homes residence in Tennessee designed and owned by an architect.
