Ángel Luis Arambilet Álvarez (born September 16, 1957), generally known professionally as simply Arambilet, is a novelist, poet, screenwriter, painter, graphic artist and filmmaker of Spanish-Dominican descent.
Arambilet was one of 34 people interviewed for The History of Computer Graphics and Digital Art Project. His work is mentioned in compArt | center of excellence digital art” (a project at the University of Bremen).
He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of EGEDA Dominican Republic, the Screenwriters Guild of the Dominican Republic (AEGRD) and the Dominican Film Selection Committee (DGCINE / CDSF) at the academies Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Spanish Academy of Arts and Cinematographic Sciences, since 2012. Since that year, has been Secretary (2012–2014) and Vice President (2014–2016) of the Board of Directors of the Dominican Association of Film Professionals (ADOCINE). It is also member of the Board of Directors of the Iberoamerican Federation of Film and Audiovisual Producers (FIPCA) and Platinum Awards Iberoamerican Film. Associate member in good standing of the Professional Screenwriters Association of Euskal Herria (Euskal Herriko Gidoigileen Elkarte profesională) and Member of the Group of Storytellers Mester and corresponding member of the Dominican Academy of Language.
It has been awarded by the Ministry of Culture of the Dominican Republic with the National Short Story Award (The Cayenne petals, 1994) and National Novel Prize (Neguri's secret, 2006).
