Founded by Bastin Gerald in 2009, the company is based in Fremont, California and has a development team in Madurai, India. All applications are distributed as Software as a Service (Saas). With 40 cloud-based business apps that are available to small businesses for free, Apptivo's revenue comes from offering some paid plans. The paid plans offer extensive customization options. The software suite is also available through Google Apps. Apptivo has won awards for performance and affordability of its CRM product from PC Magazine and Capterra, claims 100,000 business customers around the world, and in 2011 closed a $1.4 million venture round.
Features
The free-of-charge software service includes solutions for business needs such as invoicing, project management, time tracking, sales reporting, sales force, estimation and customer relationship management (CRM), among others, as well as data organization on a dashboard. It includes predefined templates and integrates with many other applications, including external services like Paypal and Google Checkout.
The company targets its apps-based solutions at small- and medium-sized businesses, from freelancers up to companies with hundreds of employees. Project Management
The software suite's Project Management application enables the definition of project goals and objectives, and helps identify tasks and their relation to goals and timelines. It also allows for all projects to be instantly searchable.
Invoicing
The Apptivo Invoicing application facilitates the creation and sending out to clients of an unlimited number of invoices. Moreover, since apps are integrated, information from a task created in other apps such as the Project application can be accessed in the Invoices application. Apptivo's invoices integrate with Google Checkout, Paypal, and Authorize.Net payment services. Apptivo also has released free invoicing apps for iPhone and Android.
CRM
The Apptivo customer relationship management (CRM) application service consists of two basic tools, one designed to handle cases raised by customer complaints and suggestions, and the other dealing specifically with Return Material Authorization (RMA).
