Bradley has a B.S. in biological sciences from Clemson University, a Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary and his Ph.D. is from Westminster Theological Seminary. Before coming to King's, he was assistant professor of theology at Covenant Seminary from 2005 to 2009, where he also directed the Francis A. Schaeffer Institute.

Bradley's 2013 book, Aliens in the Promised Land, is a minority-led conversation about racism in the American evangelical church.

In his 2015 book Runaway Radical, author Jonathan Hollingsworth identifies Bradley as the first to identify a new kind of Evangelical legalism, in which young people feel compelled to enact their devotion to the Gospel by such radical acts as giving away all of their possessions, or dropping out of university to dedicate their lives to serving the poor. His best friend is Shawn Slate, a pastor in Knoxville Tennessee at Redeemer Church
