Anshul Tewari is an Indian media entrepreneur and an Ashoka fellow best known as the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of YouthKiAwaaz.com, a digital media platform for the 'current generation' to express themselves on issues of critical importance. He is also a United Nations ITU Fellow.

As per popular media, he started YouthKiAwaaz.com for news and views of the youth that found no place in the traditional media, and to break the stereotype of the youth being apathetic.

Career

Tewari started YouthKiAwaaz.com, one of India's most read youth platforms with focus on Politics, Society, Environment and more issues - and to engage young people in ethical journalism and provide a platform for free expression of young voices - combining journalism with technology, in 2008. Over the next four years, Tewari scaled up YouthKiAwaaz.com to become one of India's most influential blogs.

In mid-2009, Tewari wrote articles on education-related problems for The Indian Express. In 2010, he wrote several articles for India Real Time, a national blog of The Wall Street Journal India Online. He has been a regular writer at many popular journals and blogs.

Anshul has extensive experience in creating and scaling up participatory journalism and new media. Anshul is also an advocate for internet as a space for free speech, and the usage of new media for social good and often gives talks about entrepreneurship in the media space.
