Career
Murphy has since starred in films, television series and web series, including Blue Mountain State (2010), Rookie Blue (2012) and The Plateaus (2015).
She guest co-hosted the first episode of 2017 for This Hour Has 22 Minutes.
Schitt's Creek
As of 2015, she stars as one of the leads in the CBC sitcom Schitt's Creek, alongside Eugene and Daniel Levy and Catherine O'Hara. Murphy joked on Twitter after receiving the part that her eyebrows which are similar in shape and size to the Levy's eyebrows, was one of the reasons she scored the role. The series has won multiple awards since it premiered and season two premiered in 2016. In early 2016, the series was renewed for a third season by CBC, set to air in 2017.

Murphy is married to Hollerado singer Menno Versteeg.
