Ankur Jain was born in Bellevue, Washington to parents from India. He is the son of InfoSpace founder Naveen Jain and Anu Jain, vice president of community relations for Intelius. Jain graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in May 2011.

Jain was the founder & CEO of Humin, a technology company based in Silicon Valley that is behind the mobile contacts application, Humin, as well as the application, Knock Knock. Jain's contacts app, Humin, has been referred to as a "Social Operating System" and has been named one of the "Top 100 Greatest Innovations of 2014" by Popular Science. Jain has been credited with getting celebrity backers including Richard Branson, will.i.am, and Ari Emanuel behind the company. The company was acquired by Tinder in 2016.

Kairos Society

Ankur Jain is the founder and chairman of Kairos Society. The Kairos Society consists of both a foundation and a venture fund. The foundation brings together the world's top young entrepreneurs alongside CEOs/Heads of State/Media Leaders to develop new technologies in sectors where old industry and governments have failed to innovate. The extensive reach of Kairos Society has resulted in its meetings being dubbed "The most important meeting of young silicon valley players you've never heard of" by Business Insider. The top 25 companies from the Kairos Society have raised over $600mm at a valuation of over $2.5bn in the last four years alone. Jain is also the managing partner of the Kairos Society venture fund alongside Alex Fiance and Ryan Bloomer. The fund has invested in companies ranging from Abaris, which is looking to replace 401k, to Radish Fiction, which is looking to replace traditional publishing.

Singularity University

Jain was selected as one of 80 students (out of 1,800) to participate in the Singularity University Summer Program, an interdisciplinary program based at the NASA Ames campus in Silicon Valley, where his father is a trustee.
