Anita Rios is an American politician and activist from Ohio. A Green, Rios has run for office several times, including for Lieutenant Governor in 2006 and 2010 as well as for Governor in 2014. An initial poll gave Rios 4% of the vote statewide against Republican incumbent John Kasich and Democrat Ed FitzGerald. Rios qualified for the 2014 ballot as a write-in candidate after 500 voters wrote in Rios for Governor in the May primary.

Rios was born, raised and resides in Toledo, Ohio. She is the daughter of Mexican American farm workers and Spanish is her first language. Rios has been married to Robert Hannon, co-founder of the Toledo City Bike Co-Op, for 30 years.
