Animal Equality is an international non-profit animal rights organization whose purpose is "to achieve equal consideration and respect for animals." This approach disputes the concept of speciesism, which considers animals as merely property and thereby of lesser value than humans.

Animal Equality is active in the United States, United Kingdom, India, Spain, Italy, Germany and Venezuela. Its activities are concentrated in the cities of London, Pune, Madrid, Barcelona, Rome, Stuttgart and Caracas.
Animal Equality is currently one of Animal Charity Evaluators' Standout Charities.
Mission
Animal Equality works to achieve a long-term social change, where all animals are treated with compassion and respect. Through major campaigns, proactive educational initiatives, investigations, corporate vegan outreach, and legal advocacy. By educating the public about animal issues, we motivate them to move towards a vegan diet and provide useful resources to help them.
Animal Equality focuses its attention on the four main areas in which animals suffer the most: farmed animals, clothing trade, laboratories, and the entertainment industry.
Activities
Animal Equality organises street demonstrations and protests to promote respect for animals. On 21 January 2009, in a program called Diario de, Telecinco broadcast images of an assault on the Saragossa bullring carried out by Animal Equality and its raid on a warehouse with 40,000 hens, intended to expose the exploitation of these birds.
Animal Charity Evaluators review
In its latest annual recommendation (November 2016), Animal Charity Evaluators (ACE) named Animal Equality as a Standout Charity. ACE designates as Standout Charities those organizations which they do not feel are as strong as their Top Charities, but which excel in at least one way and are exceptionally strong compared to animal charities in general.
In its November 2016 review, ACE cites Animal Equality's strengths as achieving significant successes with little money (in particular, undercover investigations); a strong understanding of success and failure; a sound strategy for increasing their reach and significant room for more funding. Their weaknesses, according to ACE, include their being spread across seven countries, leading to logistical difficulties and fewer resources to devote to each country.
Animal Equality was one of ACE's Top Charities in December 2014 and 2015.
Spending
In its November 2016 review, ACE estimates that Animal Ethics will spend about 41% of their budget on grassroots outreach, 37% on farm investigations, 16% on social media, and 6% on other programs including legal advocacy, the launch of their international corporate outreach team, and a small online ads program.
