Dr. Anil Pareek; (born 10th Jan 1957) is active in the field of Medical Affairs and Clinical Research. He has given his more than 28 yrs to the field of Medicine and his contribution in Diabetes and blood pressure is remarkable. His experience includes academics and clinical practice. Dr. Pareek received his MBBS degree in October 1978 from Topiwala National Medical College and Nair Hospital, University of Mumbai. He received his M.D. in Internal Medicine and Therapeutics in October 1983 from Topiwala National Medical College and Nair Hospital, University of Mumbai

Career

Dr. Pareek Started his career as a resident doctor in Medicine, Pediatrics, and Radiology at BLY Nair Hospital, Mumbai in March 1980. Subsequently, he worked as a faculty at Topiwala National Medical College, Mumbai. He also worked as Consultant Physician at Ministry of Health, Saudi Arabia. With the passing years Dr. Pareek has been associated with several leading pharmaceutical companies in India. He has several Publications to his credit in leading international peer reviewed journals.

Currently Dr. Pareek is working as President, Medical Affairs and Clinical Research in Ipca Laboratories Ltd.

Early and Personal Life

Dr. Anil Pareek was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra. His Father Mr. Hanuman Prasad Pareek served a renowned textile mills during 50's to 80's in Mumbai. Dr Pareek is married to Ms. Uma Devi Pareek. The couple have two children Abhishek Pareek and Aditya Pareek.

Achievements

A man who knows the time management and balancing act so well that after being The President in his current organization also has never stopped him from publishing new articles in scientific journals. This is the only reason why Dr. Pareek holds six patents for novel drug combinations in the area of metabolic disorders.

He has been successful in establishing the role of hydroxychloroquine in metabolic disorders and for the first time in the world, hydroxychloroquine has been approved for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in India.

With his contribution, several products were introduced for the first in India e.g. Hydroxychloroquine (DMARD), Beta-Arteether, Aceclofenac, Norfloxacin, Combination of Atenolol and Nifedipine, Alprazolam, and Midazolam.

He has helped in outsourcing of several products like Metoprolol extended release + Amlodipine, Metoprolol XL + Ramipril, Cefoperazone + sulbactam (2:1 combination) and Quetiapine Sustained Released to various multi-national and Indian pharmaceutical companies.

Awards

Apart from his knowledge and skills, Dr. Pareek has unique hold as a pharmaceutical scientist and medical practitioner. This has rightfully helped him in getting recognition and Awards. In 2008, he received "New Investigator Travel Award" for participating at Jackson Cardiovascular Renal Meeting, 2008, at The University of Mississippi Medical center, Jackson Mississippi.

Dr. Anil Pareek received his second award "IDMA Margi Memorial Best Patent Awards 2014-15" for hydroxychloroquine combinations in treatment of diabetes.

Working with Ipca Laboratories Ltd. Dr. Pareek has received "Clinical and Research Excellence (CARE) award 2016" for the category "Clinical Trial Results of the Year" Sponsored by Informa on 27 April, 2016 at State Room, Boston, US.
