Contents

In August 2015, the Anglo Eastern group announced its merger with the Hong Kong-based Univan group, resulting in combined third party management of nearly 600 ships.

History

Peter Nash established Anglo-Eastern in 1974, initially as a chartering and ship owning organization - with Anglo-Eastern Management Services being the in-house manager of the ships. The latter was the start of the present Anglo-Eastern Group.

The process of an MBO (Management Buy Out) in 1998 and a subsequent merger with an established UK ship manager, Denholm Ship Management in 2001, were the key factors in establishing the present AE Group as a truly independent, global ship manager.

Currently the Anglo-Eastern Group looks after a varied fleet, crew-based training, technical services and operating on a worldwide basis.

In May 2012, the company entered a partnership agreement with the Teekay group, assisting them with crew management and training.

The Company Today

The Anglo-Eastern Group has quietly grown over years, establishing an operation that is known for its service standards, emphasis on safety and long-standing employee records.

As of September 2013, Anglo Eastern managed more than 450 vessels, consisting mostly of container ships, bulk carriers and tankers (crude oil, product and chemical), heavy lift vessels (owned by Dockwise—a Dutch company) and a few general cargo and RoRo vessels. The Company employs more than 20000 sea going crew in their ships and also more than 1000 for their shore-based jobs.

Hong Kong forms the hub of its operations, with company offices occupying more than 3 floors, in Queens Road, Wanchai. Their other large management offices (more than 50 ships each) are located in Singapore (tanker division) and Glasgow. Comparatively smaller offices (less than 25 ships) are located in Belgium, Germany, USA, Canada and India. The company's technical services division (AETS) supervises new builds and conversions in China, Korea and Philippines.

Since 2010, they have managed Pipe laying barges. In August 2015 Anglo Eastern merged with univan ship management and new group is called ANGLO EASTERN-UNIVAN GROUP. what brings us to a total of almost 29000 employees..
