Jacksonville suns manager andy barkett ejection
Andrew Jon Barkett (born September 5, 1974) is an American professional baseball manager and a former Major League (MLB) first baseman and outfielder. He played for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2001. He is currently the manager of the Indianapolis Indians, the Triple-A affiliate of the Pirates.

Playing career

Barkett played college baseball for the NC State Wolfpack from 1992–1995.

In 1995, Barkett made his professional debut with the Butte Copper Kings of the Pioneer League. In 45 games with Butte, Barkett had a .333 average, 5 home runs and 51 runs batted in. He was acquired by the Texas Rangers on August 10. Barkett finished the season with the Charleston River Dogs of the South Atlantic League, a Single–A affiliate of the Rangers. He batted .218 over 21 games with Charleston, driving in 12 runs.

On December 14, 2010, it was announced that Barkett would manage the AA Jacksonville Suns in the Florida Marlins organization.
