Andriy Melnyk is a Ukrainian diplomat and politicians who is since 20 December 2014 the Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany.

Biography

Melnyk was born in 1975 in Lviv. He started his diplomatic career in 1999 as second and then first secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine in Austria; he left this Embassy in 2003. Between 2005 and 2007 Melnyk worked as an advisor to Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko. From the till 2012 he was Consul of Ukraine in Hamburg. Between 2012 and 2014 Melnyk worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. In March 2014 he was appointed Deputy Minister of in the first Yatsenyuk Government responsible for European integration. On 20 December 2014 a decree by President Petro Poroshenko appointed Melnyk Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany.
