Andrew Kirtzman (born c. 1961) is a journalist and author who served as political reporter and anchor for six years at WCBS-TV (CBS 2) in New York City until April 2008. He is the author of Betrayal: The Life and Lies of Bernie Madoff about Bernard Madoff's $65 billion Ponzi scheme and "Rudy Giuliani: Emperor of the City," a book about the former mayor's tumultuous reign at City Hall. Kirtzman was with Giuliani on the morning of September 11, 2001 and chronicled his experience with the mayor in the paperback version of his book.

Kirtzman was born and raised in Manhattan's Lower East Side. He graduated from Saint Ann's School in 1978. He attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he was the Executive Editor of The Daily Pennsylvanian, the student newspaper, and the Sphinx Senior Society and received his B.A. in journalism from New York University.

He frequently appears on network and cable television news programs to discuss politics and business. At WCBS-TV he hosted the Sunday morning political program Kirtzman & Co., which featured interviews with politicians and reporters. His weekly on-air column, "Kirtzman's Column," won him an Emmy award for best political programming in 2003. Prior to WCBS-TV, he worked for seven years as a senior political reporter at NY1, where he also co-hosted Inside City Hall. He also worked for four years at the New York Daily News as a political reporter covering City Hall. He served as a contributing editor for New York Magazine and authored its biweekly Field Memo column during the city's 1997 mayoral race and the state's 1998 U.S. Senate race. He previously had been an investigative reporter for the Houston Post and the city editor of the Hudson Dispatch in New Jersey. In September 1999, Brill's Content magazine named Kirtzman one of New York's 10 Most Influential Journalists.

Kirtzman was married on March 9, 2005 in Toronto to Kyle Froman, a prominent dance and fashion photographer and former member of the New York City Ballet corps de ballet.

Fire Island interests

Kirtzman was formerly owner/publisher of the Fire Island Villager, a weekly newspaper. The other investors include Matt Blesso, a real estate investor, and Seth Weissman, an investment banker. He is also sole owner of The Madison Fire Island Pines, an upscale guest house.
