History

On October 6, 2016, the Gladiators were announced as the seventh member team of the new Arena Developmental League, with their logo and color scheme unveiled that day. The team was announced to be co-owned by former NFL players Rod Gardner and Frank Walker. However, the team apparently ran into issues securing the lease to the Civic Center of Anderson in time for the ADL's deadlines and were removed from the league on November 5, 2016. On the same day, Supreme Indoor Football posted on their social media accounts that the Gladiators had agreed to join the SIF for the 2017 season. While the Gladiators were still listed as members of the SIF in February 2017, they were not included in the SIF's 2017 schedule.
