Anders Akerstrom (born January 19, 1982) a native of Oslo, Norway, is a former American football Defensive End and kicker. Akerstrom has played for the Hamburg Sea Devils and the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europe. He was also a member of the New Orleans Saints practice squad. He played for Arkansas from 2002-2004.

College career

Akerstrom was a walk on kicker for the Arkansas Rasorbacks in 2002. Anders later was moved to a defensive end.

Professional career

Akerstrom went undrafted in the 2005 NFL Draft. He was assigned to the Frankfurt Galaxy on April 27 and played two games. He was assigned to the New Orleans Saints practice squad the same year due to the International Development Practice Squad System. The system allows an International player an opportunity in the NFL. The player could not be cut or become activated on the 53 man roster. In 2006, he became a member of the Hamburg Sea Devils and recorded 6 tackles and one sack. He played 6 games and started one.
