Anastasia Misharina (Russian: Анастасия Мишарина) (born January 29, 1980, Vladivostok, USSR) is a well-known Russian dietitian, author of several popular fruit-based diets. Coming from Vladivostok, a city in the Russian Far East which has close ties with Japan, Misharina developed Yuzu citrus diet that became popular among Russian celebrities.

Early life and education

Anastasia is a graduate of the Pacific State Medical University, Vladivostok, and first developed her interest in healthy eating and weight loss techniques as an undergraduate at that school.

Diets and techniques

Anastasia Misharina is a proponent of "gentle," balanced dieting without sharp, sudden restrictions on intake of any kinds of food. Her suggestions include advice on exercise which should be combined with a diet for best results.

Misharina proposes protein, carbohydrate-based and "medical" diets designed to prevent the onset of cancer and cardiovascular conditions and improve the health of blood vessels and other organs in the human body.

Misharina's exercise regimen includes routines focused on leg and abdomen muscles designed to keep them in shape. In the Russian media the diet is called "Anastasia Misharina's Diet" (Russian: "Диета Анастасии Мишариной").
