Sri Anandaram Gurjar or Anandaram Phagna was a famous folk author and narrator from Rajasthan.He is well known for his famous rajasthani book "Bagaravat Bharat-Veer Gurjar Utpatti also known as Devnarayan Bhagwan ki Katha-Gurjar Dharmkatha".

Personal life

He was born in Bistari village (Hindoli tehsil) of Bundi district in Rajasthan, India.

Books

He is very famous for his historical book "Bagaravat Bharat-Veer Gurjar utpatti". The book covers heroic deeds of 24 Gurjar brothers collectively known as Bagaravats. The book further tells about Bagaravat's grandfather Hariram rawat and their father Bagh simh Gurjar. This book also tells about lord Devnarayan. Sri Ramnarayan Gurjar is the copyist for the book. The language of the book is Rajasthani or Gojri.

The book was published in vikram samvat 2027 (1971).

This book was also translated into English by Aditya malik with the title Nectar Gaze and Poison Breath: an analysis and translation of the Rajasthani oral narrative of Devnārāyaṇ.
