However after the success of this book an entirely fictional Amityville sequel was created titled Amityville: The Evil Escapes.

It all started in Amityville, followed them 3,000 miles and Now for the Lutz family the forces of 112 Ocean Ave. have followed them around the world no matter where they go, it will be there and the Lutzes must find a way to escape these Amityville horrors.
