Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[1] Aminagar Sarai had a population of 15,255. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Aminagar Sarai has an average literacy rate of 59%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with 61% of the males and 39% of females literate. 17% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Exact figures for religious populations are not public from 2011 census. It has been a religious harmounous place for centuries and the communal clashes are still unheard of. It has three Hindu Temples, two Balmiki temples, few Mosques, an Idgah, a Jain Digamber temple and a Jain Shwetamber Sthanak.

Climate

Aminagar Sarai has a monsoon influenced humid subtropical climate characterised by hot summers and cooler winters. Summers last from early April to late June during and are extremely hot, with temperatures reaching 49 °C. The monsoon arrives in late June and continues till the middle of September. Temperatures drop slightly, with plenty of cloud cover but with higher humidity. Winters start setting in October and the town then has a mild, dry winter season from late October to the middle of March. The lowest temperature ever recorded is −0.4 °C (31.3 °F), recorded on Sunday, 6 January 2013. Rainfall is about 845 millimetres (33 in) per annum, which is suitable for growing crops. Most of the rainfall is received during the monsoon. Humidity varies from 30 to 100%. The town receives no snow.

Facilities

It has many resident doctors, practicing for years. Ayurvedic medicines are also popular. The town has a two decade old charitable hospital 'Shantilok Hospital'. A veterinary hospital and a small clinic are also run by the UP government.

In education, it hosts many schools and one Degree College; it also has a B.Ed. college and engineering college in the vicinity.

Air

The nearest airport is the Indira Gandhi International Airport which is about 100 km away.

Road

By road Aminagar Sarai is not well-connected. It is 3 km off State Highway 58 (Baghpat-Meerut State Highway). Few buses, shared 3-wheelers and paddle rickshaw ply from the main road to the town.

There are 2 main bus terminals, namely Binuali Stand and Roadways Stand from where private buses and Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) buses ply to all nearby villages and cities.

Railways

The town is not connected directly to the railways. Nearest railway station is at Baraut and Agarwal Mandi

Famous

Aminagar Sarai is a rich town in sweets. The sweets(especially Ghewar, घेवर, Jain Misthan Bhandar,pro: Shikhar Chand Sunil Jain Mani Jain) of the town is famous and in the months of June-September, more than 2000 kg of Ghewar is exported every day.

Every Thursday, there is a 'haat' market in the town. People from neighboring villages come for shopping.
