Cafe
American Tea Room's cafe in Downtown Los Angeles features a menu with pastries and food made and designed by Valerie Gordon of Valerie Confections. The tea bar is equipped with two Bkon Craft Brewers, a reverse atmospheric tea infusion system, in which they make an assortment of their loose leaf teas to order. They also have a variety of specialty tea drinks on their Global Tea Bar menu, based on tea drinks from around the world, like a Himalayan Butter Tea.
Teas
American Tea Room carries a seasonal, rotating selection of over 200 teas from around the world. These teas include rare single estate teas, tea blends, herbal teas, matcha, blooming teas, Earl Grey and English Breakfast blends and more in every tea category, with a majority USDA Organic. Many of them are selected by David Barenholtz, the owner of American Tea Room, on his yearly travels around the world.
Tea products
In addition to their tea, American Tea Room carries a host of porcelain, glass, and cast iron teapots, tea cups, and tea accessories for scooping, steeping, and storing tea. They also carry a range of matcha related bowls, whisks, and scoops.
Locations
Since 2003, Beverly Hills has been their flagship location. The store features their full selection of teas, tea ware, and their cafe. Seasonally, they have hosted "tea-vents", which include local celebrity chefs and mixologists pairing food and drink with their specialty teas. Currently, the Beverly Hills location is closed for renovation and is set to reopen in February 2016.
Additionally, they have opened a tea lounge and warehouse in Downtown Los Angeles' Arts District. The 5,600 square-foot space has a garden lounge with fire pits with a green wall, a touch screen tea zone, and a full cafe menu. A store is also set to open November 2015 in Orange County, at Fashion Island in Newport Beach, California.
