Amar Singh is an Indian educational administrator. He is Indian historian, Archeologist and retired professor. He has been served as reader and then professor Head, Chairman & Dean in Department of History in Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak. He also energiged the MD University press with his untiring efforts. He was also chairman of various committees including selection committee of man and woman Athletics. He has guided many doctoral research. He has also conducted many Seminars in various colleges and Universities, including Manohar Memorial (P.G.) college, Fatehabad in 2012. He is presently associated with Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Khanpur Kalan, Sonipat after retirement as professor emritus. He also served Baba Mast Nath University, Rohtak as a Head & Dean in 2015.

Excavation work

He has chalked out many places for excavation and his work has been remarkable in the field of Archeology. Dr Amar Singh, head of the MDU team, said on the occasion of excavation in Jhajjar cite the recovery of articles such as pottery, goblets, and maniks (used in manimala, a string of pearls) reminiscent to the remains of Indus Valley civilisation. The remains indicated that it was a small helmet during the Indus civilization. "The excavation could help explore rural life of that civilisation. We will reach up to the natural soil deep at the site and it could take a few months time," It must be a rural hamlet located at an elevated area here. The total area of the site is around one acre or 5,000 sq yd. There were many sites, which had given a glimpse of the urban life in the Indus civilisation, but this site would reveal about the rural way of life of the corresponding times. He informed that Kurukshetra University professor Suraj Bhan had discovered this site about 30 years ago, but not much work was done here. Traces of about 1000 year old human civilisation have been found at a site near Badli, Jhajjar village in the district during excavation by a team of archaeologists. A place known as Baba Sarang Dev the excavators recovered pottery during their early phase, which indicated the historical significance of the site. He has also excavated khokhrakot area for excavation, Cult Deity of Jarai Math Temple, Barwa Sagar (Jhansi), On Torana Architecture and organised many campus with students and collaboration of various universities in search of historical valuable as an Archeologists. His work has been highly appreciated among worlds top historians and Archeologists.
