Alliance university


Alliance University is a private university established in the city of Bangalore, India, set up in 2010 by Act No. 34 of the Karnataka State, the university was established under the aegis of Alliance Business School.

Alliance University campus is located on the Chandapura-Anekal main road, Bangalore. The city campus of the university is located in BTM Layout, Bangalore. Alliance University is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi.

The university has been lauded as an esteemed university by the Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah.

The university has had a fair share of controversies in 2016 with the Chancellor being accused of rape, power struggle within the founding family leading to closure of the university and subsequent loss of academic days and a report of alleged financial scam in the university. The State government is currently mulling the idea of taking control of the university by amending the act under which the university was created.

Schools and colleges

The university has six academic schools - Alliance School of Business, Alliance School of Law, Alliance College of Engineering & Design and Alliance Ascent College, Department of performing arts, Planned academic units.

Academics

Alliance University offers programs that it was already offering before becoming a university – the undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in business administration, programs for working professionals, and customized programs for the armed forces. In the recent years, new programs have been introduced through the colleges affiliated to the university.
