Jenkins grew up in Horton Heath (near Fair Oak) and attended Fair Oak School. When she was 16, Jenkins attended Laine Theatre Arts School in Epsom where she studied acting, dance, and theatre. She has reportedly studied and shared the same flat with Victoria Beckham in her early days of college. After a dancing job on a cruise ship, Jenkins joined the BBC via BBC Talent, working initially for Radio Solent, before joining South Today as their main weather presenter in 2001.

BBC South Today and Points West
Alina joined South Today between 2001-2002 after working as a Travel Presenter at BBC Radio Solent, Alina was promoted to join BBC South Today just six months after she joined Radio Solent. After a gruesome training of 6 months of meteorological studies, Alina was appointed on the post of 'Weather Presenter' at BBC South Today. She then got her breakfast show as a weather presenter with BBC South Today. She has won Best Newcomer at the Royal Television Society Awards for her work with the channel. She eventually returned to BBC Radio Solent after working with South Today for almost 5 years.she left the South Today in 2006.

Work in BBC Radio Solent
Alina was fond of dancing and acting since her childhood. This was the reason she got herself enrolled in the School of arts and drama in London for her graduation. He began her career as a dancer on a cruise ship. Eventually, she sailed with the MV Marco Polo for seven months. But later on, she was tired of standing in the long queues for dance audition where many candidates lined up. So, she finally decided to send her audition clip to BBC. The clip impressed the BBC Talent team and they hired her to join BBC Radio Solent.
Her career progressed rapidly since joining Southampton Hospital Radio (HBA) as a volunteer in 2000.
Thanks to her earlier job that got her visit many exotic destinations, Alina was hired on the post of a travel presenter with Radio Solent. She worked there for six months and then was promoted to join BBC South Today between 2001-2002.After working with BBC South Today for five years, Alina returned to join BBC Radio Solent once again. She started presenting shows like Early Breakfast, the afternoon show, Saturday Brunch & The Good Life with the channel. Later on in 2012, Alina became the news presenter on the flagship breakfast show for BBC Radio Solent. In 2013, she presented the new breakfast show for Dorset on BBC Radio Solent. She was one of only 3 women across 41 BBC regional stations to have their own breakfast show.
BBC Weather Presenter
In 2013, she was called by BBC to present their prime time weather bulletin. Accordingly, she presented hundreds of weather forecasts for BBC 1, the News Channel, Radio 4, 5 Live & the final lunchtime weather bulletin from Broadcasting House, Wood Lane. After returning to BBC Radio Solent in mid-2013 to host another breakfast show Dorset, Alina returned back to BBC Weather in 2014 as Senior Producer, to manage the daily editorial output. Ever since she has been seen as a regular presenter for BBC Nations and Regions and BBC National Weather a number of times. Husband
Alina married her long-time beau David who she has been reportedly dating for a long time. Though Alina has always chosen to remain tight-lipped about her love and personal relationships, she once spilled the beans about how love happened between her and David and said that their relationship kicked off on a very unexpected note at an overly unexpected time. The couple has been still going strong for years with absolutely no trouble in paradise !

Alina and her husband David have a son together. His name is Max and he is more inclined towards sports. Alina has decided to keep his son away from the limelight but she leaves no stone unturned to support Max in his ambitions. She is time and again seen supporting him at his sports matches. The popular anchor once also admitted that she feels nervous yet extremely proud to watch her son lock horns with National players during his matches. She also shared that she loves exploring the New Forest and Lepe Country Park on long walks with her son. Her best pass time is to read books with her son, Max.
