Algoma Progress Wikipedia
The Algoma Progress is a self-unloading lake freighter operating on the North American Great Lakes, by Algoma Central. She is a seawaymax vessel, equipped with a bow thruster. From 1968 until 2011 she was owned and operated by Upper Lakes Shipping, and was named the Canadian Progress. Upper Lakes sold their entire remaining fleet to Algoma Central in 2011, and Canadian Progress was renamed Algoma Progress..
She has had two serious groundings.
Algoma Progress ended the 2014 shipping season on December 30 by docking just north of International Marine Salvage in Port Colborne Ontario. They are expected to scrap her over 2015.
