Alexander shorokhoff avantgarde chronograph automatic lefty watch review
Alexander Shorokhoff is a designer and manufacturer of mechanical wristwatches based in Alzenau, Germany. Annual sales number approximately 1100 pieces.
In 1995, Shorokhoff founded the watchmaking company Poljot International in Frankfurt, after acting as distributor for the Russian brand Poljot since 1992. By 2003 he was producing watches under his own name. In 2009 a watch commemorating the historic Soyuz-Apollo docking was unveiled, with the first production example being presented to retired cosmonaut, and Soyuz 19 mission commander, Alexey Leonov.
Design
Whilst the form-factor of the watches are mostly traditional, the dials and faces are very much avant-garde yet draw inspiration from the 1960s. Shorokhoff watches use the number "60" in place of the "12" at the top position of the dial, representing the 60 minutes of the hour.
