Aleksandr Mergold is an architect living in the United States. He is an assistant professor in the department of architecture at Cornell University in the College of Art Architecture and Planning, and a founding partner of the firm Austin+Mergold LLC.

Education
Coming from a family with two generations of architects, Aleksandr received his Master of architecture from Princeton University and his bachelor's degree from the architecture program at Cornell University in 2000, where he received the New York chapter AIA and the Charles Goodwin Sands medals.
Academic career
Aleksandr has taught at the Parsons, the New School for Design, the Iceland Academy of the Arts and in the Department of Design and Environmental Analysis and Department of Architecture at Cornell University.
Work
Before founding Austin+Mergold LLC in 2008 with Jason Austin, Aleksandr has worked in the offices of Perkins Eastman Architects and Swanke Hayden Connell Architects as well as spending six years as a senior architect in the New York offices of Pentagram. Since then, he has built projects at various scales, designed and contributed to exhibitions in the USA and internationally.
