On 3 February 2008, Ossola was chosen as one of the 50 most influential personalities to European club basketball, over the last half-century, by the Euroleague Basketball Experts Committee.

Ossola won, with the great Italian League club Ignis Varese of the seventies, 5 Euroleague titles (1970, 1972, 1973, 1975, and 1976), and played in ten consecutive finals, a record that is almost impossible to be broken.
