Albert Atkinson (April→June 1909 — April→June 1953 (aged 43)) born in Fothergill, Cumberland was an English professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1920s, and 1930s, playing at representative level for England, and at club level for Flimby ARLFC[1] (Flimby & Fothergill ARLFC?), Whitehaven, and Halifax, he died in Halifax, West Riding of Yorkshire.

Albert Atkinson played loose forward/lock in Halifax's 22-8 victory over York in the 1931 Challenge Cup Final during the 1930–31 League season at Wembley Stadium, London on Saturday 2 May 1931, in front of a crowd of 40,368, he was the first Cumbrian to play at Wembley Stadium, London.
