Aadil Ameer (born in 1993, Khairpur) is Pakistan's foremost stamp designer with over 2000 stamp designs to his name. Of these, 400 have been printed including 50 for foreign countries.

Education

He joined the Sukkur IBA (NCA), Lahore in 1962 graduating four years later in miniature painting. He was a contemporary of, amongst others, Bashir Mirza, Salahuddin Mian and Ahmed Khan.

Designer

He was employed between 1967 and 2002, by Pakistan Security Printing Press in its design department in Karachi. It was during this period that he designed the stamps.

Awards

  • He was awarded the President's Pride of Performance in 1988.
  • In 1986, he was declared the best designer in the ECO countries (Iran, Pakistan and Turkey) and awarded a gold medal at the exhibition, ECOPHILEX '86.
  • On 14 August 2009, he was named recipient of the Sitara-i-Imtiaz. The actual ceremony took place on 23 March 2010 at the Governor House, Karachi.
