Acheiria /əˈkɪəriə/ is the congenital absence of one or both hands.

Causes

It can occur in a number of situations which include:

Amniotic band syndrome : particularly if unilateral

Cornelia de Lange Syndrome

Fetal hydantoin syndrome

Incontinentia pigmenti
