Quotation

"Spirituality is not meant for converting an imperfect person to perfect but to transform a perfect to absolute"

Early life and education

After completing school education in 1982, he had his Pre-Degree from the Bishop Moore College, Mavelikara, Kerala in 1984 followed by Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the NSS Polytechnic College, Pandalam in 1987.

He then proceeded to Mumbai in search of a job and joined the API Scooter Company Ltd., as a Trainee. It was during this period that he succeeded in the Railway Recruitment Board Examination and went on to join the Western Railway in 1988.

Spiritual Transformation

It may be said that his uncle, a celibate, Yoga Practitioner, and a Gandhian who was also an expert in Sanskrit & Hindi, happened to be Swamikal’s pre-conscious inspiration and guide in his early childhood. Bhagavatham, Bhagavad Gita, Sanskrit, Hindi, Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Spiritual Literature etc., were mostly comprehended in his childhood itself. Relocation to the cosmopolitan city (Mumbai) , a sense of imbalance in modernism and discourses by HH Chinmayananda Swamikal, the world renowned Gita proponent started arousing the latent spirituality in Hariswamikal. It was Chinmayananda Swamikal who advised him to renounce worldly life and join the Chinmaya Mission and hence his Upadesaka Guru. But he was destined to reach elsewhere. Once, while in office, during a deep contemplation of Universal truth against issues concerning life, he experienced a spell of spiritual trance (Bhavasamadhi) which lasted for about 2 hours. When he woke up from that state he realized that a consciousness that he is not the body but the eternal soul - Aham Brahmasmi – has filled in him. His Tantric Guru Mata later on indicated that it was an instance of arousal of Kundalini in him.

Days of renunciation

Towards the end of 1989 Hariswamikal decided to completely renounce worldly life. Quietly he proceeded to the Himalayas. From Haridwar through Hrishikesh he wandered along the Ganga shore and reached the Sivapuri Village. On one Sivarathri day he accepted Naishtika Brahmacharya deeksha from Sureshapuri Maharaj, a Naga Sanyasin and lived there for quite some time along with his Guru.

Towards Acharyatva through Jnanasidhi

Thereafter Hariswamikal’s history and journeys were extremely eventful. During the course of his expedition from the Kaalika Mandir of Dehradun to the Kaamakhya Sidha Peeth in Assam, he earned more than 8 (eight) Gurus in various spiritual disciplines and accomplished Saadhana and gratification. Names of those Gurus and corresponding spiritual systems are indicated below:- 1. Swami Chinmayananda (Mumbai) - Upadesa Guru (1989) 2. Sureshapuriji Maharaj (Himalayas) – Deeksha Guru in Naga order (1990) 3. Swami Madhavananda Saraswathi (Mirjapur, UP) – Vedantha- Sanyasa Guru (1990) 4. Matha Radhabhai (Vrindavan) – Vaishnava Deeksha (1990) 5. Yogiraj Maharaj (Rishikesh) – Pathanjali Yoga Siksha Guru (1990) 6. Bhavaanyamba Nathan (Varanasi) – Srividya Deeksha Guru (1991) 7. Rishinath Sharma (Kamakhya) – Vaama Marga Thatra Deeksha (1992) 8.Manavaananda Nath (Tharapith) – Koula & Divya Thantra Marga (1992) 9. Avadhooth Yogi (Anonymous , Kotilingeswar) – Samayaachara Deeksha (1993) 10. Matha Bhairavi (Arunachal Pradesh) – Shakthipaatha Yogadeeksha (1994)

It was Matha Bhairavi, his last Guru who recognised the divine acquisition of sacred knowledge (Saastra-Jnana Sidhi) in Hariswamikal and directed him to go to the public to deliver unadulterated knowledge of the great Hindu tradition. “The Acharya of the Time” was the title conferred by the Mata Guru upon realising that his Aajna Chakra has opened and he has acquired absolute spiritual knowledge without having to undergo much conventional training.

Towards Kerala, the seat of activity

Hariswamikal returned to his native place by mid 1995. Though he lived there calmly without disclosing (his spiritual identity) to any one, the ocean of knowledge within slowly started to surface on its own. Thus, Hindu organizations formed by interested individuals and events like Mrutyunjaya Yajna & Dussehra festival paved the way for setting up the present Gurukulam in Kuttamperoor. The Gurukulam which was founded on 14 April 1997 got registered as a Charitable Spiritual Organisation in 2014 as Sri Brahmavidya Gurukulam Trust.

Eminence & Distinctiveness of Hariswamikal

30 spiritual books over a period of 12 years testify the inner universe of the enlightened Swamikal. He has finished penning more than 50 books. The works are published by “Yajnaprasadam”, a publishing house founded by Swamikal himself. His “Haindavachara Rahasyangal” was the most sold spiritual book of those days. Each book attracts readers with its diverse greatness.

Another mark of greatness is the successful accomplishment of Sahasrachandee Yaga spanning a period 12 consecutive years from 2002-2013 with limited companions. So is the installation of the first Sreechakra-Tripura Devi Temple in Kerala and a Siva temple where all devotees can directly offer poojas. Propagation of Tantrism and his finding that Aagama Yoga existed in India much prior to the Vedas are also special attributes. He has in him the entire knowledge pertaining to Hindu philosophy in all scripts right from the Vedas. His ability to precisely answer any spiritual question instantly is amazing. His followers consider this as testimony to his having attained Jnanayogasidhi.

It is worth mentioning here that Hariswamikal is one of the rare Acharyas in the branch of Mantrasaastra living today.Besides pure spirituality, He has the skill to synchronise most art forms with spirituality. Apart from creating many Portraits and sculptures, has written many devotional songs and composed them in classical pattern. He has even scripted and directed a cinema “Mahakaalikam” with Censor Board certification. Swamikal who has delivered discourses in more than 500 stages across India, including three grand Kumbh Melas, is a brilliant orator as well. However, He has fixed the Satsang in Gurukulam on the last Sunday of every month and authoring of books as priorities. The Aacharya of the time, AbhinavaSuka Brahma, Pravachana Saarvabhouma are the titles conferred on him (while in North India).Swamikal’s works and CDs containing discourses listed below can be obtained by contacting Gurukulam.
