Academy Prep Center of Tampa is a private middle school housed in the historic V.M. Ybor School building, opened in 1908 on Columbus Drive in Ybor City, Florida. The brick building is fronted by a columned entry. It is located in the Barrio Latino Local Historic District and the National Historic Landmaric District of Ybor.

History
The V.M. Ybor School was one of the first public schools in Ybor City and served many Cuban, Italian, and Spanish immigrant children.
The building was dormant from 1971 until renovations, restoration and additions were completed in 2003.
