Acıpayam, historically known as Dadeş, is a village in Elâzığ Province, situated at the East Anatolia section of Turkey. The village has a population of 372, which consists of Turkish people with no minorities. The village is 18 km (11 mi) away from Elâzığ. Located at the skirt of the mountains, it is rich in natural water, which feeds the agricultural lands, make the land highly fertile.

The famous delicacies are flat stone bread, patila, kofik, dolma (stuffed pepper, auborgine and tomatoes) and dried grape paste (pestil).
Besides developing agriculture, the village economy is relies on stockbreeding. There are many cattle and sheep farms located in the village. The major agriculture products are grape, white beet, cotton, barley wheat and sweet cherry. The grape types are Öküzgözü, Boğazkere, şilfonu and ternebi.
Popular culture
The village has few legendary stories based on real life heroic characters; Emos Kalkancı aka Emos Ağa (known for his justice and generosity), Hacı Abdullah Topyıldız, Zekeriya Tanrıverdi and Çakmakcı Mustafa. The legends are known with their justice and bravery.
