Abdul Razzak Abdul Wahid (Arabic: عبد الرزاق عبد الواحد born in Baghdad 01/07/1930 -08/011/ 2015) was a Iraqi poet.

Career

In 1952 he graduated from school of education (دار المعلميين) and worked as a teacher for a while, after he was the Associate Director of Academy of Art in Baghdad.

Personal life

Abdul Razzak was born in Baghdad to Sabians parents. At the age of 3, he moved with his family to Maysan where he spent his childhood and early youth there moving between rivers and the beautiful nature that he loved.

He wrote his very first poem in 1945 followed by his first poetry collection in 1950. He wrote more than 42 poem combinations and 2 poetic dramas between them there are 10 combinations are his favorite which he wrote for children. He also wrote during the Iraqi-Irani war.

  • First prize in the world poetry festival/ Yugoslavia 1999
  • Shield of Damascus from the minister of culture 2008 and there are many from the Iraqi government through previous government regime.
