Abbott Spur

Abbott Spur is an ice-covered spur in Victoria Land, Antarctica, separating the lower ends of Rutgers Glacier and Allison Glacier on the west side of the Royal Society Range.

Discovery and naming

The spur was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) in 1994 after Robin R. Abbott. Abbot was helicopter field operations coordinator at McMurdo Station, and was active in coordination and planning of science support in Antarctica from 1984.
