AV Pooja

A.V. Pooja is an Indian playback singer who has recorded songs for various Indian films. She has performed in a variety of languages including Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. Her mother is from Palakkad (Kerala), but she was born and brought up in Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh). Her aunt was in Chennai, so she used to spend her vacations with her which had a impact on her music learning.

She participated in reality shows, and became 2nd in an telugu singing competition where she won a car. Her dream was to become a playback singer and a singer . consequently, her parents pushed her in this way. she has a very supportive family who helped her through her music carrier, they even helped her to get ride of stage fear. Pooja's parents decided to make her participate in Airtel Super Singer so that she can be noticed by the music industry. During her participation in Airtel Super Singer, she was well acclaimed and very appreciated, she even gained Melody queen surname.

She did some small back ground harmony and sang some small portions for many famous music directors like Gv Prakash, Ar Rahman...but wasn't recognized by big music directors to sing as main lead singer because they tend to favouritize old singers and not new one.

Luckily, she was noticed by D.Imman who gave her an opportunity to sing in his movie.Actor Sivakarthikeyan who was an anchor in vijay tv's Airtel Super Singer at the time Pooja was a contestant, wanted her to sing in his movie. However D.Imman also wanted her to sing in his movie. So she sung in their combo, Varutha padada valibar Sangam "paakada paakada" song which became a success.
