ASB Baypark Stadium (formerly known as Bluechip Stadium) is a multi-purpose stadium in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand. It is currently used for dirt track Speedway and jetsprints events during summer and Rugby union matches in winter.

ASB Baypark Stadium is one of three home stadiums for the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union (the others being Rotorua International Stadium and Tauranga Domain). The stadium also occasionally holds Chiefs Super Rugby matches.

A new $42 million multi-purpose facility, the ASB Arena, has recently opened next to the stadium.

The arena also has a cafe and provides catering services through the onsite caterer Bay Catering - a joint venture between Global Cuisine Ltd and Tauranga City Venues Ltd.

ASB Arena

ASB Arena is a multi-purpose venue in Tauranga, New Zealand which arrived to the area in 2001, providing versatile options for sports, business, leisure and entertainment events. The $42 million facility has hosted events from national sporting fixtures, trade shows and conferences, to gala dinners, corporate hospitality and international music acts.

A focal point for activities on site, the impressive Arena provides 13,000m2 of available space. It comprises two spacious auditoriums, four inter-connectable meeting suites and two circulation areas joined together by a sweeping foyer. A modern café facility and prominent Civic art collection are features that will complement any event.

The facility is suitable for conferences hosting 600+ guests, gala dinners of up to 1,200 and meetings and entertainment for up to 4,600 people.

ASB Stadium

ASB Stadium is a hub for high-profile sport, culture and entertainment events, with an extensive portfolio of venues to accommodate activities of almost any type, scale and duration. Corporate occasions including conferences, meetings, awards, trade shows, exhibitions, and gala dinners are often catered for.

Large outflow facilities and spaces include the 17,000 seat ASB Stadium, lounges and flat expansive concrete and grass areas. They host a wide variety of activities including Super Rugby, speedway, motor sports, concerts and blokarting.

The completion of the new roof over the south stand in 2011, means more than 90% of grandstand seating at the stadium is covered ensuring that fans can enjoy the event entertainment in the comfort of shelter whatever the weather.

Outdoor Area

The Plaza, located at the eastern end of ASB Baypark, is a 700m2 courtyard capable of hosting small outdoor performances, cocktail parties, team building or breaking out from conferences to enjoy lunch, morning or afternoon teas in the fresh air.

A second sports field onsite at ASB Baypark provides additional turf for training and event requirements. Set on the beautiful Bay of Plenty coastline renowned for its climate and activities on and off the water, ASB Baypark is the popular choice for many events.

Activities

The ASB Arena and Stadium play host to a range of events and activities making use of the various facilities available. With its proximity to Mount Maunganui and Tauranga city it is a very popular events destination in the Bay of Plenty.

Sports

ASB Arena is capable of hosting a number of sporting events from professional level games right down to community sports leagues. The multi purpose courts are able to host indoor netball, indoor football, fastnet, volleyball and basketball games.

Conferences and meetings

The Arena is a prominent conference and meeting venue in Tauranga with its state of the art facilities. It is able to host gatherings for 12 to 1,200 people.

Exhibitions and trade shows

Various exhibitions and Trade Shows are held in the Arena each year in the 4500m² TECT Auditorium and the 2,349m² Lion Foundation Centre. In the past these have included the Tauranga Spring Home Show, the Seriously Good Food Show, Tauranga Career and Business Expo, Women's Lifestyle Expo, the Tauranga Wedding Show and an Active Retiree Expo.

Concerts

Various concerts have been held at the ASB Arena in the past including performances from the Beach Boys, 10CC, SOL3MIO and Savage.

Located on the junction of major state highways, only minutes from the Tauranga Airport, ASB Baypark offers easy access and provides parking on site for up to 5,000 vehicles.
