AOMEI Partition Assistant is a computer program for hard disk drive partition management originally made by AOMEI Technology, Co, Ltd, the typical function is resizing the existing partitions. There are six different editions of this software: free Standard Edition.(for common users), Professional Edition(with additional features such as convert primary/logical partitions, allocate free space from one partition to another etc.), Lite edition (free version for server users) Server Edition (aimed at server users), Unlimited edition (aimed at companies with many computers) and Technician Edition (aimed at IT consulting company that provide technical services). As partition software, Partition Assistant can create, resize, delete, merge, split partition and more, it also offers other advanced utilities, such as convert file system from NTFS to FAT32, convert MBR and GPT disk, make bootable media etc. The software embeds sector-level data protection technology. The Standard and Pro editions only support Windows PC operating systems including Windows 2000 and Windows XP, Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 or 10, both 32&64 bits. The other four editions also support Windows Server operating system including Windows Server 2003, 2008 (R2), 2012 (R2) and SBS 2011.

Advantages

This program consists of a list of useful functions on disk partition management.

  1. Partition Resizing: it is able to shrink, extend, merge and split existing partitions.
  2. Reallocate disk space: increase a partition by taking unused space from other drives.
  3. Copy and migration: completely clone an entire disk or single partitions to back up and miragte Operating System and data.
  4. Conversion: convert between FAT and NTFS, Basic and dynamic disk, Logical and Primary partition.
  5. Recovery and repair: repair damaged MBR, recover lost partitions.
  6. Disk Partition Management: Create, delete, format, wipe partitions etc.
  7. Windows To Go Creator: Install customized Windows 10 or 8.1/8 on removable USB flash drives and external hard drives to boot it from any computer

Disadvantages

  • Cannot lock volume in some conditions.
