ACS Macro Letters is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the American Chemical Society. The journal is available exclusively online. The first monthly issue was published in January 2012; however, Articles ASAP began appearing on the journal's website in the Fall of 2011. ACS Macro Letters was developed to complement Macromolecules, the leading journal in polymer science. As reported in the Thomson Reuters 2010 Journal Citation Reports®, Macromolecules ranks #1 in total citations in the category of Polymer Science, with more than twice the number of citations as the #2 journal in the category. Macromolecules received a 2010 ISI Impact Factor of 4.838. With the launch of ACS Macro Letters, all Communications to the Editor that were formerly published in Macromolecules will be published as Letters in ACS Macro Letters. Researchers should turn to ACS Macro Letters for reports of early, urgent results in polymer science and to Macromolecules for more detailed discussions of comprehensive research findings.

Contents

Scope

Examining both synthetic and naturally occurring polymers, ACS Macro Letters reports major advances in polymer synthesis, modification reactions, characteristics, theory, simulation, surface properties, and kinetics and mechanisms. The journal reports on all areas of soft matter science where macromolecules play a key role, including nanotechnology, self-assembly, supramolecular chemistry, biomaterials, energy, and sustainable materials.

Readership

ACS Macro Letters is intended for researchers in polymer science as well as materials science, nanotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and energy. The journal makes it possible for these researchers to stay abreast of the most urgent research results in polymer science and its related disciplines.

Types of Articles

ACS Macro Letters publishes peer-reviewed…

  • Letters: Short reports of original research focused on an individual finding of great significance to the field of polymer science.
  • Viewpoints: In-depth examinations and perspective on topics of current interest to researchers in the field.
  • Editor-in-Chief

ACS Macro Letters is led by Editor-in-Chief Timothy P. Lodge. Dr. Lodge is Distinguished McKnight Professor, IT Distinguished Professor, and Lloyd H. Reyerson Professor in the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at the University of Minnesota. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of Macromolecules. Dr. Lodge has been recognized with such awards as the Paul J. Flory Polymer Research Award and American Physical Society’s Polymer Physics Prize for his outstanding contributions to polymer chain diffusion and segmental-chain dynamics. Dr. Lodge has authored or co-authored over 280 papers in the field of polymer science.

Dr. Lodge is supported by Deputy Editor Stuart J. Rowan. Dr. Rowan is Professor in Molecular Engineering at University of Chicago. Dr. Rowan’s research focuses on the investigation and application of supramolecular chemistry in polymer chemistry.

    Submissions

ACS Macro Letters enables researchers in the field to bring their important findings in polymer science and related disciplines to the attention of the global scientific community. Manuscripts are typically published within four to six weeks of manuscript submission. The journal encourages submissions and publishes Letters from around the world.
