A Dream of Kings is a 1969 drama film directed by Daniel Mann, adapted from the novel of the same name by Harry Mark Petrakis.

It stars Anthony Quinn and Irene Papas. It was nominated for an award at the 1970 Laurel Awards. It was also the final film for Inger Stevens, who committed suicide two months after the film's release, and the first for Radames Pera, who played young Caine on the TV show Kung Fu.

A dream of kings
Plot

Matsoukas, a Chicago-based Greek/American with his long suffering wife Caliope, learns that his son is dying. Convinced that the child will do better in Greece, he attempts to raise the airfare to get the family back there.

Unfortunately, all his sources of income dry up until he is forced to fix a dice game to raise the cash. His wife eventually raises the money by stealing from her own mother. They make the trip but Matsoukas decides to stay to avoid further humiliating his wife.
