The road was built in the early 21st century by clearing the existing clay dunes. The name 90 Feet Road was given because the width of the road is 90 feet (27 m) across its length. It is considered as one of the most prestigious road in the city. Also Awanta Bhawan, a historical place built by King Meghwahana's wife Queen Amrita Prabha is situated on the eastern side of the road up to first few km.
